Meet The Team

Hi, I'm Ash Shewchuk

I am a Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying) with the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario (CRPO) License #18508, supervised by Kate Harper. I have a Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology and an Honour’s Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology. My background in hospice care and crisis response has fundamentally shaped my work as a therapist, with these roles honing my ability to listen beyond words and to sit with people in their most difficult moments with empathy and without judgment. This is the essence of my practice today: I prioritize creating a space where you feel safe, validated, and truly heard.

Effective therapy must be as unique as the individual seeking it. Rejecting a "one-size-fits-all" model, I integrate techniques from various frameworks like Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), Narrative Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Internal Family Systems (IFS). At the heart of this practice is a deeply collaborative relationship, built on the conviction that you are the ultimate authority on your life.

When I'm not in session, I can be found playing music, working on a crossword puzzle, or trying to improve in a newfound hobby, be it woodcarving or quilting.

Ash works with individuals ages 18+ and specializes in anxiety, people pleasing, shame and trauma.

Hi, I'm Kelsey McDonald

I am a Canadian Certified Counsellor (CCC) with the Canadian Counselling & Psychotherapy Association (CCPA #10010824). I hold a Master of Education in Counselling Psychology, and for more than 20 years, have worked in roles where I support individuals with their mental health.

I believe that people come to therapy when they are ready for life to feel different, and I am committed to working collaboratively with my clients as they explore pathways toward change.

I am passionate about building relationships that provide a secure-base to do this important work; where you feel seen and understood. I value the knowledge and experiences you bring to our sessions; you are the expert on you, and you decide if anything in the process feels too fast, too soon, or too much.

My approach to counselling is integrated, which means I draw from a variety of theoretical backgrounds so that your sessions are tailor-made for your unique needs. I welcome feedback from clients about their experiences during counselling, and you can count on me to be candid during our work together.

Outside of my time with clients you can find me walking my dogs, curled up with a good book, or experimenting in the kitchen.

If you would like to learn more about what it might be like to work together, I invite you to connect with me!

Kelsey works with individuals ages 18+ and specializes in anxiety, burnout recovery, navigating parenthood and trauma.

Meet Kelsey

I am a Canadian Certified Counsellor (CCC) with the Canadian Counselling and Psychotherapy Association (license #11241928). I hold a Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology and a Bachelor’s Degree in the Social Sciences. I am trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and am currently working toward certification.

In therapy, I take a collaborative and person-centered approach. I believe you are the expert on your own life, and my role is to walk alongside you, offering tools, insights, and encouragement as you move toward healing and growth. My work often draws from Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Narrative Therapy, and EMDR, and I adapt sessions to meet you where you are at. Together, we can explore what you are experiencing in the present as well as the deeper beliefs and root issues that may be shaping your life.

I am passionate about making therapy accessible and inclusive for people with diverse needs and experiences. Living with ADHD has shaped how I show up as a therapist, and has given me a deep respect for the fact that healing is never one-size-fits-all. I bring flexibility, creativity, and a non-judgmental stance to my work, adapting approaches so that therapy feels supportive and effective for you.

Outside of session, you can usually find me walking my dog or exploring new creative outlets like crochet, texture art, cooking, or painting with watercolours.
